POPTLE ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered notification management app for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it. By using POPTLE, you agree to this policy.
Notification content: App name, notification title, and notification text from the notifications you receive. This data is used solely to classify and prioritise your notifications.
Account data (optional): If you sign in (email sign-in link), your email address is stored via Firebase Authentication. Sign-in is optional and the app works fully without it.
Usage data: Standard app-usage and diagnostic events collected automatically by Firebase Analytics (e.g. app opens, screen views). We do not log your notification content to analytics.
Crash data: Stack traces and device metadata collected via Firebase Crashlytics when the app crashes, used solely to fix bugs.
Install identifier: A random per-install ID is sent with backend requests for rate limiting. It is not linked to your identity and resets if you reinstall the app.
We never collect the full body content of personal messages (WhatsApp, SMS, etc.) beyond what appears in the notification preview.
We never sell your data to third parties.
We never use your notification content for advertising.
App name, notification title, and notification text are sent to our classification backend (hosted on Render, using the Groq LLM API) to determine the attention zone and priority score. Before anything is sent, OTP codes and long digit runs (phone, account, and card numbers) are masked on your device. This transmission is encrypted (HTTPS). Notification content is not stored on our servers — only the classification result (zone, priority, category) is stored in your local device database.
Chat and voice: when you use the POPTLE assistant, your message and a masked summary of your current notifications are sent to the same backend to generate the reply. Voice input is transcribed on your device; only the resulting text is sent.
You can turn cloud processing off at any time in Settings > Privacy > Cloud AI (Private mode). In Private mode, classification happens entirely on your device and chat is disabled.
All notification data and your personalisation preferences are stored locally on your device using Android Room (SQLite). We do not sync this data to the cloud.
Firebase Authentication tokens are managed by Google's Firebase infrastructure and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Notification records are stored locally and older, inactive records are automatically deleted after 30 days. You can clear them at any time via Settings > Clear Notification History. Chat history is stored locally and can be cleared via Settings > Clear Chat History. Deleting the app removes all local data.
You can export all your notification data via Settings > Export My Data.
You can delete all local data by clearing notifications and chat in Settings, or by uninstalling the app.
For any data requests, contact us at joel@poptle.com.
Firebase (Google LLC) — Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Groq — LLM inference for notification classification and chat. App names and masked notification titles and text are transmitted to Groq's API.
Render — Backend hosting for our classification proxy.
POPTLE is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
